new studies show that in an effort to thwart off skin cancer risk, people have been avoiding the sun and covering up at all costs. however, this is actually resulting in an INCREASE to some kinds of cancers, and different autoimmune diseases.
okay yes, i am getting my info from feministing (where i get most of my good information from!), and no, they are not doctors. but they also aren’t advocating you get rid of sunscreen altogether.
doctors DO recommend that you get 20 minutes of sun (go vitamin d!) on 20% of your body between 11am-2pm (when its the strongest) every day. not only is it going to do your body good, but vitamin d increases happiness! people with vitamin d deficiencies are more likely to get seasonal affective disorder (or SAD). feministing recommends you cut the cord to the computer and get outside. im gonna go ahead and second this.
but not whilst reading my blog.
are you afraid of the sun? does the idea of a non-sunscreened body make you run and hide? or are you a sun lover like myself?

I looooove the sun (and you sweet ass blog) but often spend most of my summers in an office. As a consequence, I am usually the most hideous shade of pale and quite depressed. Solutions?

i agree, this is somewhat of a huge problemo. being inside a cold office is not condusive to getting a sick tan. short of quitting any job (or internship!) to be outside in the sun, i guess utilizing breaks during the day to take a break outside would be the best option.
but you could always go with the first one. that would free up a lot of time.
