i realize i have a problem.
i am addicted to mtv. i just love it all so much. i don’t even know where to start. (okay wait, i do).
THE HOSTS
my favourite host hands down is jessi! she is hilarity. get her and eugene levy’s son together and you have yourself a good time.
THE SHOWS
The Gauntlet- i don’t know what it is! dramatic people, cheesy reality television, and enough money at stake to make people act insane? i love it so much. now that is good television my friends.
The Hills- okay yes, it is getting so scripted that its ridiculous, but the LIVES these people lead! where is my internship at teen vogue (not that my internship now isn’t lovely cuz it is!), nights out at the clubs you only read about on perez (okay, maybe only i read about them on perez), and friends whose lives are more like 90210 and clueless? clearly i wish i was born in LA, even if for no other reason then to be closer to all the men that LC dates, cuz they all seem high calibre to me.
The Real World- i still think my favourite season ever was Las Vegas or Key West, but this Hollywood season isn’t half bad! i haven’t seen all the episodes because i have as of late become a huge loser and go to sleep before its over, but i will watch them
(another reason i love mtv? everything is ONLINE)
Finally- Tila Tequila TWO- thats right people! back for a second season! (props to amelie for pointing this out to me!) what other hijinks could there possibly be for a bi-sexual host and 18 boys and girls vying for her attentiong? (by the way- where the f do they find the scum they put on this show? remember ashley from last season? oh boy).
ONLINE COMMUNITY
Thanks to melanie mcbride and her online mags course, i have a new found love for all things in the online blogging or non-blogging world. MTV gets that as well, and definitley fosters a somewhat web2.0 community
What do you love about MTV? Or I guess, not love, but i don’t really see what there is to NOT love.

looking for a sick new band? you should look no farther.
in fact, they aren’t even new. i would even go as far as to say they are well-seasoned. why more people don’t know about them is beyond me.
i love the stars. a lot.
canadian indei music at its best my friends.
so dramatic. and intense. i think the best comment i ever heard about them was when my friend said to me, after listening to their newest cd in our bedroom after the war “i am so depressed and i don’t know why.” aren’t you ever in the mood to be beautifully depressed? that is what i would say the stars are to me. insightful lyrics, accompanied by somber music. female and male vocalists whose voices mesh so well together- its all something beautiful i can’t even describe.
(do yourself a favour- listen to the night starts here, take me to the riot, midnight coward, and don’t be afraid to sing. if i could have torquil campbell’s love babies i would. repeatedly)
what are you listening to? what is your favourite under rated band?
